Installation steps
Six steps, start to finish
A tire shop can follow these when the tires are off the wheels. Always match the kit to the wheel first.
1
Confirm the kit
Match the year, chassis, wheel size, wheel type, valve-hole diameter, and hand-hole shape to the application chart.
2
Inspect the wheel
Break the bead, remove the old stem, and check the valve hole for cracks, burrs, pits, or elongation.
3
Install and torque
Keep grommet surfaces clean and dry. Apply thread locker on reverse-mount threads. Torque to spec, then air up.
4
Stack the duals
Stack the wheels and confirm the long inner stem is centered in the outer hand-hole. Bend gently if needed, valve cap on.
5
Leak test
Spray soapy water at the base and the tip. If the base leaks, reinstall with a new grommet.
6
Check clearance
Valve stems must not touch the simulator. Keep about 1/2 inch clearance and trim any sharp edges.
Good to know
-
External cap-style TPMS sensors are supported. Internal TPMS that attaches to the valve stem is not compatible.
-
Standard spin balancing is harder with the long inner stem. Internal balancing compounds such as Equal or Counteract can be used.
-
The long inner brass stems can be bent slightly during install. Do not bend short or curved stems.
-
Any local truck tire shop should be able to install Duallyvalves.
Common questions
Fit FAQ
Do these work with internal TPMS?
Not with internal sensors that attach to the valve stem. They work with external cap-style TPMS, and with band-mounted internal sensors that do not connect to the stem.
Do these work with external TPMS caps?
Yes. External cap-style sensors mount at the end of the stem.
Can the long stems be bent?
Yes, the long inner brass stems can be bent slightly during install. Short and curved stems need a special tool, so do not bend those.
Can a tire shop install them?
Yes. Any local truck tire shop can install Duallyvalves when the tires are off the wheels.
